Las Lunas Locas and Kaya Press

Round 1

November 12th, 2016 at 7pm at Dunkee’s

Las Lunas Locas are a community of self-identified womyn who gather every Monday night and write, right and rite.  They come from all walks of life from Los Angeles and beyond.  They understand that the personal is always political and as such use words as weapons, whether it is to dismantle patriarchy or speak tenderly of our sadness.

Those interested can follow them on Instagram @laslunaslocas.  They can also email us at laslunaslocas@gmail.com

They have read at Tia Chucha’s Cultural Center and Bookstore; Avenue 50 Studios; Holy Grounds Coffee Shop; Santa Catalina Library in Pasadena; Hecho En Mexico restaurant; Proyecto Jardin in Boyle Heights; Los Angeles Festival of Books; we will be participating in North Hollywood’s LIT CRAWL.

Kaya Press is a group of dedicated writers, artists, readers, and lovers of books working together to publish the most challenging, thoughtful, and provocative literature being produced throughout the Asian and Pacific Island diasporas. We believe that people’s lives can be changed by literature that pushes us past expectations and out of our comfort zone. We believe in the contagious potential of creativity combined with the means of production
